 Lessons to Complement Children’s LiteratureSeveral lesson plans have been developed to coincide with existing literature for children ages 5 and up. Each lesson correlates to economic and/or personal finance concepts and enables teachers to share these topics within a reading component. One of the latest lessons is based on the story called Saturday Sancocho, by Leyla Torres, and allows students to explore how bartering is done in Central and South America as they listen to a story and participate in a trading activity to illustrate money's advantages over bartering. |

Teaching Tips Tied to the Economy This series provides ways for teachers to integrate current issues and research into their classrooms using Federal Reserve research. Extension activities and questions for classroom discussion are also provided within each instructional guide. One of the most recent releases focuses on the factors that contribute to food price inflation and examines the inflation of relative costs in farm commodities, labor, energy and overall marketing. |
